CHEESY SAUSAGE PUFF PASTRY ROLLS

Introduction

Cheesy Sausage Puff Pastry Rolls are the ultimate crowd-pleasing snack or appetizer. With flaky, buttery pastry wrapped around seasoned sausage and gooey melted cheese, these rolls are perfect for parties, picnics, or a cozy treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 8 oz (225g) sausage meat (or remove casings from sausage links)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Filling
    In a bowl, mix sausage meat with garlic powder, oregano, and cheese. Add mustard if using.
  3. Assemble Rolls
    Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle (if not pre-rolled). Cut into 2 or 3 strips lengthwise. Spoon sausage mixture along one edge of each strip, then roll up tightly. Seal the edge by pressing gently.
  4. Slice and Brush
    Slice each roll into 1.5–2 inch pieces. Place seam side down on the baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with seeds if desired.
  5. Bake
    Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. Ensure sausage is fully cooked.
  6. Cool and Serve
    Let cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
