Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 8 oz (225g) sausage meat (or remove casings from sausage links)
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix sausage meat with garlic powder, oregano, and cheese. Add mustard if using. - Assemble Rolls
Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle (if not pre-rolled). Cut into 2 or 3 strips lengthwise. Spoon sausage mixture along one edge of each strip, then roll up tightly. Seal the edge by pressing gently. - Slice and Brush
Slice each roll into 1.5–2 inch pieces. Place seam side down on the baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with seeds if desired. - Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. Ensure sausage is fully cooked. - Cool and Serve
