- 1 box yellow cake mix
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
Gooey Layer
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3½ cups powdered sugar
(Optional: add 1 cup white chocolate chips for extra gooeyness)

1. Make the Crust
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix the cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg.
- Press the thick dough evenly into the bottom of the dish.
2. Make the Gooey Filling
- Beat the cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the 2 eggs + vanilla.
- Add powdered sugar slowly and beat until creamy and thick.
- Pour mixture over the crust.
3. Bake
Bake for 35–40 minutes, until:
- the edges are golden
- the center is set but still soft and gooey
Do not overbake — the middle should jiggle slightly.
4. Cool & Cut
Let cool completely before slicing into bars.
Dust with powdered sugar if you want that bakery look.
