Paçoca is one of Brazil’s most beloved traditional sweets. It’s soft, crumbly, melts instantly on your tongue, and tastes like sweet roasted peanuts with a hint of salt. The candy is incredibly simple to prepare — no baking, no cooking — just a quick blend and shape. It’s the kind of treat that feels homemade, nostalgic, and comforting, the way Brazilian grandmothers have made it for generations.
Ingredients
- 2 cups roasted peanuts (unsalted or lightly salted)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ cup cassava flour (or fine graham crumbs as an alternative)
(Cassava flour is traditional, but many homemade versions use substitutes and still taste amazing.)
Instructions
1. Grind the Peanuts
Place roasted peanuts in a food processor and pulse until finely ground. Do not overprocess — you want a sandy texture, not peanut butter.
2. Combine the Dry Ingredients
Add powdered sugar, salt, and cassava flour to the processor. Pulse again until everything comes together in a crumbly, slightly sticky mixture.
3. Shape the Candy
Scoop small portions and press firmly into mini molds, silicone cups, or shape by hand into small cylinders. Paçoca should hold its shape but still crumble softly when bitten.
4. Let It Set
Place shaped candies on a tray and allow them to rest at room temperature for 20–30 minutes before serving.
Serving & Storage
Paçoca is perfect with coffee, tea, or as a sweet bite after meals. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week. The flavor deepens over time, making it even better the next day.
Enjoy !!!
