Banana Pudding

Introduction:
Banana pudding is a classic Southern dessert that layers creamy vanilla pudding with fresh banana slices and vanilla wafers. It’s nostalgic, crowd-pleasing, and incredibly easy to make—perfect for potlucks, family dinners, or a cozy treat at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (5.1 oz / 145g) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream (or 1 tub whipped topping)
  • 1 box vanilla wafers (about 45–50 cookies)
  • 4–5 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Make Pudding Base: In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk until thickened (about 2 minutes). Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Chill for 5–10 minutes.
  2. Whip Cream: In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold it into the pudding mixture (or use whipped topping for convenience).
  3. Layer: In a large trifle dish or 9×13 inch pan, start with a layer of vanilla wafers, then add banana slices, followed by a layer of pudding. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with pudding on top.
  4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor and texture.
  5. Serve: Top with extra whipped cream, crumbled wafers, or banana slices just before serving.

Enjoy !
