Garlic Mushrooms and Broccoli
Introduction
Garlic Mushrooms and Broccoli is a quick, nutritious side dish packed with flavor. Sautéed in garlic and olive oil, this simple combination delivers the perfect balance of earthy mushrooms, crisp broccoli, and savory seasoning.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) fresh broccoli florets
- 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or portobello)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil or unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep Vegetables
Wash and cut broccoli into florets. Slice mushrooms. Mince garlic. - Cook Broccoli
Heat 1 tbsp oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add broccoli and sauté for 4–5 minutes until just tender. (Optional: blanch first for softer texture.) - Sauté Mushrooms
Add remaining oil or butter, then mushrooms. Cook for 5–6 minutes until golden and tender. - Add Garlic
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. - Season and Combine
Add soy sauce, lemon juice (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly. - Serve
Remove from heat, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
