Garlic Mushrooms and Broccoli

Introduction

Garlic Mushrooms and Broccoli is a quick, nutritious side dish packed with flavor. Sautéed in garlic and olive oil, this simple combination delivers the perfect balance of earthy mushrooms, crisp broccoli, and savory seasoning.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) fresh broccoli florets
  • 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or portobello)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep Vegetables
    Wash and cut broccoli into florets. Slice mushrooms. Mince garlic.
  2. Cook Broccoli
    Heat 1 tbsp oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add broccoli and sauté for 4–5 minutes until just tender. (Optional: blanch first for softer texture.)
  3. Sauté Mushrooms
    Add remaining oil or butter, then mushrooms. Cook for 5–6 minutes until golden and tender.
  4. Add Garlic
    Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Season and Combine
    Add soy sauce, lemon juice (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  6. Serve
    Remove from heat, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
