Creamy, chocolatey, and melts in your mouth — the REAL old-school fudge.
This is the traditional stovetop fudge made with sugar, butter, and evaporated milk — not the shortcut version. It’s smooth, rich, and has that perfect old-time flavor.
🍫 Ingredients
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsalted butter (1 ½ sticks)
- ⅔ cup evaporated milk
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow crème (or 2 cups mini marshmallows)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prep Your Pan
Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan with foil or parchment paper.
Grease lightly.
2. Make the Fudge Base
In a large heavy saucepan:
- Add sugar, butter, and evaporated milk.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Once boiling, continue cooking 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
(A rolling boil with constant stirring is key!)
3. Add the Chocolate
Remove from heat and immediately stir in:
- Chocolate chips
- Marshmallow crème
- Vanilla
Stir until smooth and glossy.
4. Add Nuts (Optional)
Fold in pecans or walnuts.
5. Pour & Set
Pour fudge into your prepared pan.
Smooth the top.
Let cool at room temperature for 3–4 hours or refrigerate 1 hour.
Cut into squares.
🍬 Tips for Perfect Fudge
- Don’t stop stirring while boiling — prevents burning.
- Let it fully cool before cutting.
- Use good-quality chocolate for the richest flavor.
- If you want it firmer, refrigerate longer.
Enjoy !!!
