I finally got this recipe from my mom and made three batches of the stuff

Creamy, chocolatey, and melts in your mouth — the REAL old-school fudge.

This is the traditional stovetop fudge made with sugar, butter, and evaporated milk — not the shortcut version. It’s smooth, rich, and has that perfect old-time flavor.

🍫 Ingredients

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (1 ½ sticks)
  • ⅔ cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow crème (or 2 cups mini marshmallows)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep Your Pan

Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan with foil or parchment paper.
Grease lightly.

2. Make the Fudge Base

In a large heavy saucepan:

  1. Add sugar, butter, and evaporated milk.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once boiling, continue cooking 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
(A rolling boil with constant stirring is key!)

3. Add the Chocolate

Remove from heat and immediately stir in:

  • Chocolate chips
  • Marshmallow crème
  • Vanilla

Stir until smooth and glossy.

4. Add Nuts (Optional)

Fold in pecans or walnuts.

5. Pour & Set

Pour fudge into your prepared pan.
Smooth the top.
Let cool at room temperature for 3–4 hours or refrigerate 1 hour.

Cut into squares.

🍬 Tips for Perfect Fudge

  • Don’t stop stirring while boiling — prevents burning.
  • Let it fully cool before cutting.
  • Use good-quality chocolate for the richest flavor.
  • If you want it firmer, refrigerate longer.

Enjoy !!!
