Introduction:
Pecan pie is a beloved Southern dessert featuring a buttery, flaky crust filled with a gooey, sweet center and crowned with toasted pecans. It’s rich, nutty, and indulgent—perfect for holiday gatherings or whenever you’re craving something truly comforting.
Ingredients:
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Set to 175°C (350°F).
- Make Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Assemble Pie: Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan. Arrange pecan halves evenly over the bottom. Pour the filling mixture over the pecans.
- Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the center is set and slightly puffed. If the edges of the crust brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
- Cool: Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack. The filling will firm up as it cools.
- Serve: Slice and serve at room temperature, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Enjoy !
