Pecan Pie

Introduction:
Pecan pie is a beloved Southern dessert featuring a buttery, flaky crust filled with a gooey, sweet center and crowned with toasted pecans. It’s rich, nutty, and indulgent—perfect for holiday gatherings or whenever you’re craving something truly comforting.

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Make Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  3. Assemble Pie: Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan. Arrange pecan halves evenly over the bottom. Pour the filling mixture over the pecans.
  4. Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the center is set and slightly puffed. If the edges of the crust brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
  5. Cool: Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack. The filling will firm up as it cools.
  6. Serve: Slice and serve at room temperature, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Enjoy !
