Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or thin-sliced steak)
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (optional but delicious)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1 cup shredded provolone
For the topping (optional)
- 1 cup cooked pasta or
- 2 cups toasted bread cubes or
- 1 can refrigerated biscuits (quartered) for a comfort-food style top
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add peppers, onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until tender.
- Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Add cream cheese and mix until melted and creamy.
- Pour mixture into a baking dish.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella and provolone.
- Add your topping choice (pasta, bread cubes, or biscuits).
- Bake 20–25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
