Quick & Easy Frozen Fruit Salad

A creamy old-fashioned freezer dessert with fruit, marshmallows, and a soft ice-cream-like texture. Mix, freeze, slice, and enjoy!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or 1½ cups Cool Whip)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 package (8 oz / 225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (20 oz / 565 g) crushed pineapple, drained well
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) fruit cocktail, drained
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional but classic)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Make the Creamy Base

In a bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
Beat again until fluffy.

(If using Cool Whip, skip the whipping step.)


2. Add Cream Cheese

In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
Fold it into the whipped cream mixture.


3. Add the Fruit

Gently fold in:

  • crushed pineapple
  • fruit cocktail
  • chopped strawberries
  • marshmallows
  • chopped nuts (optional)
  • pinch of salt

Mix until everything is evenly coated.


4. Freeze

Spread mixture into:

  • a loaf pan
    OR
  • a 9×9 dish
    OR
  • individual cups

Cover with foil or plastic wrap.
Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.


5. Serve

Let sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes, then slice or scoop.

Garnish ideas:

  • fresh strawberries
  • pineapple chunks
  • a dollop of Cool Whip
  • crushed pecans
