Elegant cake pops dipped in creamy coating and finished with shimmering edible gold—perfect for Thanksgiving, holiday parties, weddings, or special celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 box vanilla, yellow, or chocolate cake mix
- Ingredients called for on the cake-mix box
- ½–¾ cup frosting
- 12–16 oz white or vanilla candy melts
- Edible gold dust or edible gold sprinkles
- Lollipop sticks
Instructions
- Bake the cake according to the package directions and let it cool completely.
- Crumble the cake into fine crumbs.
- Mix in frosting gradually until the mixture holds together when pressed.
- Roll into 1–1½-inch balls and chill for about 30 minutes.
- Melt the candy coating until smooth.
- Dip the tip of each stick into the coating, then insert it into a cake ball.
- Dip each cake pop into the coating, allowing the excess to drip off.
- While the coating is still slightly tacky, decorate with edible gold sprinkles. For a more luxurious look, brush or splatter food-grade edible gold dust onto the set coating.
- Stand the cake pops upright and allow them to set completely.
Tip: For a sophisticated look, use white cake with vanilla coating and add just a thin band of edible gold around the top or bottom of each pop. ✨
